about the martin “kongo” boehmfeldt archive martin “kongo” boehmfeldt, born in west berlin in 1965, has been skateboarding since 1977 and is a fixture of the berlin skate scene. he has been active in berlin’s first skate club since 1979, and in 2014 he founded the skate shop barrio in berlin friedrichshain. on the side, kongo is a three-time german wakeboarding champion. he is at home wherever the rush of speed beckons: whether it’s motocross, snowboarding or surfing, kongo is right there, for the love of it.
